    "tackling the talk"

    Presenter: Nicole Richardson, LPC-S, LMFT

Supporting parents to educate their children about sex, sexuality and body image.

    Learning Objectives:

     1. What are the barriers to success for parents?

     2. A formula for identifying family values.

     3. Translating family values in to age appropriate conversations with their kids.

In a highly sexualized, digital culture where sex is often implied, referred to and valued, parents are often lost at sea when it comes to equipping their kids with empowering information about sex, sexuality and body image.  As clinicians, we have the unique opportunity to guide parents through the process of translating their beliefs into supportive conversations that can help keep kids safe.  Her training offers a simple formula for breaking down THE talk with parents and making it more approachable.

Nicole Richardson, LPC-S, LMFT is a clinician in private practice in Westlake.  Nicole works with couples, families and individuals over the age of 12 years old.  She recently presented at the Texas Symposium to Prevent Teen Pregnancy.
