      TOPIC

Therapeutic Blind Spots: Overcoming Challenges in Detecting Client Resistance

      PRESENTER

      Jordan Harris, Ph.D., LMFT-S, LPC-S

      PRESENTATION DESCRIPTION

Research shows that clinicians have common blind spots which lead to predictable and chronic mistakes when working with clients. A recent innovation in training, process coding, addresses this challenge. By training clinicians in process coding clinicians can identify these blind spots, read clients more effectively, and potentially improve their clinical outcomes.

      KEY LEARNING POINTS

        • Identify common blinds spots which lead to client drop outs.
        • Identify common errors in responding to client resistance.
        • List common responses which are likely to increase or decrease resistance.
