Membership

How do I access my profile and make changes to my account information?

First, click Log in at the top of the page. Once you're logged in, you should see {Your Name}, Change password and Log out at the top of each page. Click on your name to be redirected to your membership profile. From there, you can edit your information and find previous membership and event registration payments. You can also edit your privacy settings. If you're in our public directories, any information that is set to Anybody will be posted on your public directory profile. If you wish to be included in our public directories, submit your information for approval on the directory pages (see question below for instructions).

How do I request to be included in the public directories on the Austin AMFT website?

You must be a member to be included in our directories. You can find the Therapist Directory page here and the Supervisor Directory page here. If you have submitted your information but do not see yourself in the directory, email hello@austinamft.org for help.

How do I change the information displayed on the public directories on the Austin AMFT website?

You must be a member to be included in our directories. To edit your information, log in to your membership account. Click on your name in the top right corner to find your profile. From there, click Edit profile and then edit the information in the Profile and Privacy sections. Be sure to click the Save button at the bottom of the page, and your directory listing will automatically be updated.

Will I be notified if my membership is expiring?

You'll receive three emails regarding membership expiration. One 14 days before your expiration date, another 7 days before your membership expires, and a final email on the day of your membership expiration.

How do I renew my membership?

First, click Log in at the top of the page. Once you're logged in, you will see {Your Name}, Change password, and Log out at the top of each page. Click on your name to find your membership profile. Click on the renewal button. Here you will be able to update your contact information and member directory information. If you have a discount code, enter it at the bottom of this page to receive your discount. Click “Update and next.” Once you review and confirm your information and pay the membership fee, your membership renewal is complete!

How do I sign up for Austin AMFT's listserv/Google email group, Austin AMFT Member Connection?

The Austin AMFT Member Connection is an exclusive, members-only email group designed to help you stay connected with our professional community. It’s a space to share and receive job postings, office space opportunities, clinical and licensure questions, referrals, resources, trainings, and practice announcements.

To join the listserv, you must be an active member of Austin AMFT. If you’re not yet a member, click here to join. Once you're a member, log in to your account and navigate to For Therapists > Members Only - Join the Austin AMFT Listserv for full instructions on how to sign up.

Events & CEU's

How many CEUs are offered for events?

You will earn 1 CEU hour for attending our regular monthly events (January-June & September-November) and 3 CEUs for attending our annual ethics event in August. Each event registration page will list the amount of CEU hours to be earned for that particular event.

How many CEUs are offered per year?

Austin AMFT currently hosts 9 1-hour CE events the second Friday of each month from January-June and September-November, with 1 CE focused on Technology. Additionally each August, we host a 3-hour Ethics CE event. If you attend all of these events throughout the year, you can earn 12 CEUs per year.

I'm a member trying to sign up for an event, and I'm unable to select membership pricing. How do I sign up for an event as a member?

In order to receive membership pricing for our events, you must be a paid member through our website. If you're not already a member, click here to join. If you are a member, you must be logged in to your account to be able to select the membership pricing options for our events. If you are a member and you sign up for an event at a non-member rate you will not be issued a refund. 

Are CE events recorded and accessible afterward?

Yes, most events are recorded and viewable after an event. If you're a current member, you will have access to up to 2 years of past CE event recordings. Note that there are some circumstances where events will not be available, due to speaker request or techical difficulties, so you're best bet is to attend the event live.

To access past presentations, log in to your account. Navigate to For Therapists > Members Only - Speaker Presentations | www.austinamft.org/speaker-presentations. These recordings will not be accessible to non-members. If you're not a member and want to gain access to our online library of CE event recordings, you may do so by becoming a member!

Where can I find the Zoom link for an event?

If you registered for an event through our website, you will have received a confirmation email for your event registration containing the Zoom link. If you don't see this link or cannot find the email, just return back to our Meetings & Events page

and find the registration page for your specific event. Scroll down to find the Zoom Event Link.

Where can I find the CEU Evaluation Form for a CE event?

The CEU Evaluation Form required to obtain your CEU Certificate will be shared with you during the event. If you are a member watching the CE presentation at a later date, you will find the evaluation form on our recordings page at www.austinamft.org/speaker-presentations. You must be logged in to access. 

How do I receive my CEU certificate?

You must complete the CEU Evaluation Form for the event to receive CE credit for all events. If you are a member and wish to receive credit for watching a recording of a past CE Event, you will still need to complete the evaluation form found on our recordings page at www.austinamft.org/speaker-presentations. Note that CEU cerificates are manually generated by our Secretary and may take up to 5-7 business days to receive. If you have not received your certificate after this time period, please reach out at hello@austinamft.org to inquire.

Will a CEU count for my specific licensure (LMFT, LPC, LCSW, Psychologist)?

All CE events are approved for LMFTs, LPCs, and LCSWs. All live CE events are approved for psychologists. Pyschologists may not receive credit for watching CEU recordings due to board licensure requirements pertaining to test-taking after a recorded event.

I would like to submit an advertisement to Austin AMFT's newsletter and/or website. Where can I submit information?

Austin AMFT does not currently offer advertising opportunities through our newsletter or website, whether paid or unpaid.

If you’d like to share job postings, office space availability, trainings, or other professional announcements, we encourage you to become a member and take advantage of our members-only listserv/email group: Austin AMFT Member Connection. This listserv is a key benefit of membership and provides a space for professional engagement, resource sharing, and community connection.
